Chester City Walls
Follow The Footsteps of Roman Soldiers
Walk around the most complete circuit of city walls in Britain, built by the Romans over 2000 years ago, and enjoy a unique panoramic view of Chester on both sides.
Sites include the Water Tower (that is no longer next to the water), the remains of the country's largest Roman stone amphitheatre, the tower from which Charles I observed the Battle of Rowton Moor, and the famous clock on the Eastgate.
Tours depart from the Town Hall Visitor Information Centre and are approximately 90 minutes in duration.
